My Makin’ Bacon Bakin’ Steel

There are few things better than the sound and smell of bacon cooking…and to cook it outdoors evokes memories of camping and simple things.

As it happens, this bacon was made “at home” some time ago from a whole pork loin which was procured from the local butcher…that’s another story. This is about my Baking Steel which I absolutely love for its versatility.

15 inches of very heavy (18lb) round steel – one side totally flat and great for baking pizza and bread etc and the other with a groove ideal as a griddle. The product is here but I don’t think they sell it any more, which is a shame. Maybe the 16″ version is an update.
